Regardless, although I find Californian debauchery as titillating as the next man, I couldn't stomach its relentlessness throughout. There is only so much sex, drugs, and rock & roll I can take before my eyes glaze over. Perhaps, that was Ellis' intent/5().

  Less Than Zero is the author's first novel published while he was a college student. I had some reservations about the book, but was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the prose and the characters.
